This article includes the explanation for the protocol and the protocol itself along with the dosage charts.

Fibromyalgia means “muscle and connective tissue pain.” A diagnosis of Fibromyalgia essentially means that a person has a collection of symptoms due to a systemic failure of unknown origin. In other words, the system is not working correctly and medicine does not know the root cause. We submit the root causes are, dehydration, protein deficiency and infection; these are the root causes of many other chronic conditions besides Fibromyalgia. Therefore, the use of our Fibromyalgia kit should not be limited to Fibromyalgia, but can be used with all conditions of chronic illness, or even just with the person who would like to do a general detox and systemic tune-up.

Please keep in mind that not all supplements are created equal; you cannot judge them by either their price, brand name, or their literature. We have tested many supplements at SuperNutrient and use only the ones that test effective and not harmful. This does not mean that if you take them you will not experience immune symptoms, if your body is harboring infection and your immune system becomes enabled, then it will cause all kinds of immune activation signs (such as inflammation) according to the character, location, and severity of the infection. We suggest that you take all the supplements you are currently on and put them in your cabinet while you are on the Vickery Protocol. One of the most common causes of failures in the program is when people mix protocols. Another common cause for failure is people drinking from under-the-sink or refrigerator filtration units and bottled waters. For the most part, tap water works best. If you object to the taste of your water you can filter it with an inexpensive Brita filter from the grocery store; this filter also takes care of the very few cases where the tap water doesn’t test well.

The Chinese Puzzle of Failing Health:

–there is a chinese puzzle of limiting factors that sets itself up in all cases of chronic illness.

It helps to think of the road to health as a sequence of limiting factors that will branch out rather like a tree. The trunk of the tree will represent the beginning limiting factors that are the same in every body: 1. air, 2.water/salt, 3.protein. In other words, if you are not breathing in oxygen, it doesn’t matter how much protein you are getting, you will be dead in a short period of time. So:

Number 1. We are breathing,

Number 2. Water is essential for the proper functioning of all cells and body systems. Water will not stay long enough in the body without salt, it will just pass right out and you will stay dehydrated no matter how much you drink. Hence the need for water and salt together ( ratio: daily – ½ body weight in oz water, for every 32 oz. you need ¼ tsp of Redmond’s RealSalt. Once again, unfortunately, not all sea salts are processed the same, this is just one we know works).

Number 3. Protein
Without amino acids (AAs) the body can’t make proteins, these proteins are translated by the mitochondria and modified by the golgi in the cells. Quick review here:

If you don’t have the amino acids to do this, your proteins will be compromised and your body’s systems won’t have what they need to work correctly. For example: because your immune system is based on amino acids, your immune functions will be disabled, infection will take root, and any minerals, vitamins, fats you are taking to fix the problem will have no protein transporters to take them through the blood stream and into the cells. The result is that you become nutritionally deficient and infected, which is a nice way of saying you are sick and starving.

Your body will make all of the non-essential AAs using the carbon skeletons of existing aminos but it can only get the essential AAs from diet. There are also a couple of aminos which an increasing number of scientists say are in too short supply in the body and therefore should be considered essential. Our list we use at work is

C,F, H, I, K, L, M, R, T, V, W, Y

(amino acid key here: http://spdbv.vital-it.ch/TheMolecularLevel/Goodies/AATable.pdf).

The short version of the story: If you don’t have the proper levels of essential AAs in your system, the manufacturing mechanisms for your body’s proteins will not work correctly.

The long version:

Amino acids as regulators of gene expression

The role of amino acids as substrates for protein synthesis is well documented. However, a function for amino acids in modulating the signal transduction pathways that regulate mRNA translation has only recently been described. Interestingly, some of the signaling pathways regulated by amino acids overlap with those classically associated with the cellular response to hormones such as insulin and insulin-like growth factors. The focus of this review is on the signaling pathways regulated by amino acids, with a particular emphasis on the branched-chain amino acid leucine, and the steps in mRNA translation controlled by the signaling pathways.

OK, so what’s the problem? You eat protein, you should be able to make all these proteins right?

The problem seems to be that the first place infection will take root is usually in the digestive system: the stomach, the small bowel and the large. Inflammation will set up as an immune response and, if it is unable to be resolved, this inflammation will stay as a constant attempt towards resolution. The result is that the part of your intestine that absorbs the products of digestion becomes less efficient at uptake and less gets taken in.

Actually, there is a Chinese puzzle of limiting factors that sets itself up in all cases of chronic illness; these must be addressed and overcome before the infections inside the cells can be confronted. The puzzle is (we assume you are breathing):

  1. Proper hydration:

water/salt to provide the proper amount of water for the digestive tract fluids and provide the sodium chloride for the production of gastric acid:

Gastric acid is a colorless, watery, acidic, digestive fluid produced in the stomach. It is one of the main solutions secreted, together with several enzymes and intrinsic factors. In chemical terms, it is an acid solution with a pH of 1 to 2 in the stomach lumen, consisting mainly of hydrochloric acid (HCl) (around 0.5%, or 5000 parts per million), and large quantities of potassium chloride (KCl) and sodium chloride (NaCl).

Chloride (Cl−) and hydrogen (H+) ions are secreted separately in the stomach fundus region at the top of the stomach by parietal cells of the gastric mucosa into a secretory network called canaliculi before it enters the stomach lumen. [29]

Gastric acid acts as a barrier against microorganisms to prevent infections and is important for the digestion of food. Its low pH denatures proteins and thereby makes them susceptible to degradation by digestive enzymes such as pepsin. The low pH also activates the enzyme precursor pepsinogen into the active enzyme pepsin by self-cleavage. After leaving the stomach, the hydrochloric acid of the chyme is neutralized in the duodenum by sodium bicarbonate. [28]

The stomach itself is protected from the strong acid by the secretion of a thick, protective mucus layer, and by secretin induced buffering with sodium bicarbonate. Heartburn or peptic ulcers can develop when these mechanisms fail. Drugs of the antihistaminic and proton pump inhibitor classes can inhibit the production of acid in the stomach, and antacids are used to neutralize existing acid.(Wikipedia entries for gastric acid and hydrochloric acid).

Most people are low in salt and so are therefore properly completing the stomach phase of digestion. Sodium is also needed for the production of bile acids that are necessary for the emulsification of dietary fats. Proper gastric acid composition is also necessary as a first line of defense against infection entering the body through the digestive pathway. Without it infection can set itself up in the stomach and intestines.

  2. Preparing the small bowel for absorption:
    1. Once the stomach can properly break down its dietary proteins into amino acids and bio-available dipeptides, then the tissue of the small bowel must be prepared to absorb them. Once infection has passed the stomach and set itself up inside the small intestine, the tissues there become inflamed and unable to properly absorb nutrients. There is a supplement we use called Sea Aloe Gold which contains a form of aloe vera which will bond with the surface cells on the villi and allow them to absorb more than they normally would in their inflamed state. This allows the AAs to enter the system and begin to form proteins and transport nutrients.

    2. When the intestines are healing they will not benefit from foods or supplements that:

      1. keep them in an inflamed state
      2. grow fungus.

When infection has gone on for a certain length of time the small bowel will develop celiac and Crohn’s malabsorption and fungal infections will take root. Therefore foods that encourage these conditions must be taken out of the diet completely until the bowel has sufficiently healed. We use a special diet called The Two-Edged Sword Diet that is designed to guide you through all the stages and back into a normal diet. The Celiac/Crohn’s person should not eat any grains for three months.

  3. Cellular resistance:

Once the body has gotten the nutrients and formed the proteins then the cell membranes have to be prepared to receive them so that cellular exchange can happen. Usually prolonged states of inflammation will result in a certain amount of cellular impermeability. We use lecithin granules 1 Tbsp/3xday. NOW brand is cheap and easy to find, or we have one that we use that is very good.

When people are in a state of protein deficiency they will need a source of professional grade essential amino acids in the proper combination and ratio in order to start and maintain protein sufficiency. Platinum Plus Essential Amino Acids work beautifully for this. The dosage will range between 2/3x day and 4/3x day (depending on your levels/types of infections and how well you are able to metabolize and utilize proteins) on an empty stomach. The limiting factors to the body’s use of Platinum Plus are in the above Chinese puzzle list, namely, malabsorption. If you have an infected, sclerosing small intestine, it will not even absorb Platinum Plus. This is why the Fibromyalgia and Natural Antibiotic Kit is such a logical place to start, it addresses the whole Chinese puzzle along with the basic tree trunk limiting factors.

This will be a supplement you will always have to take.

If you don’t believe this, just try stopping Platinum Plus for a few months and watch your malabsorption/infection return with a vengeance.

After the 3 parts of the primary trunk, the tree branches out. First it will go to some basic common requirements such as iodine, vitamin C, multi-vitamin/mineral and essential fat intake, and then it will branch into various different areas encompassing nutrient metabolism and utilization as well as individual nutrient needs in response to various types of infections such as lymes, measles, herpes, rift valley fever, sarcoidosis, tuberculosis, e.coli, H.pylori, gonorrhea, MRSA. gingivalis, streptoccocus, clostridia, and on and on. Every infection has its own target tissues and the immune system responds differently to each group of infections. The needs for various nutrients will rise and fall depending on what is attacking where.

Protocols:

The Fibromyalgia and Natural Antibiotic Kit #1 w/ Sea Aloe Gold ($230.50)

This kit is designed for the person who just needs some basic nutritional support to regain their health. It addresses the first three limiting factors of the trunk and the first part of the branches that include iodine, ascorbic acid, multivitamin/mineral and essential fats. With the addition of lecithin granules, this kit will address the basic factors of many people’s Chinese puzzle.

It is designed to last from 1–2 months depending on how quickly a person builds up on the protocol. we recommend starting with ⅓ the dosage recommended on the chart.

It contains:

  • Platinum Plus (2 bottles 120 ct) – Platinum Plus contains all of the essential amino acids listed in the article, as well as sulfur (needed for the construction of many proteins) molybdenum (needed for the detoxification pathway II of the liver) and creatine (needed for the production of energy).

  • Sea Aloe Gold (1 bottle 90 ct – a combination of kelp and aloe to provide the necessary iodine for the body as well as the Aloe Vera to help the small bowel tissue absorb nutrients and heal.

  • a multi vitamin/mineral (1 bottle 90 ct)

  • a source of essential fatty acids (1 bottle 90 ct)

  • vitamin C (1 bottle powder)

  • vitamin A (1 bottle 750 drops)

  • Two Edged Sword Diet book

  • One free bottle of natural relaxant to help with relaxation and sleep for those who need it.

If you have trouble tolerating supplements you may want to start with the Pre-Protocol below.

If you do not have trouble with supplements and want a more complete protocol, order the The Fibromyalgia and Natural Antibiotic Kit #2 w/ SAG and add the Pre-Protocol below. Start with the Pre-Protocol for 2 weeks and then add in the The Fibromyalgia and Natural Antibiotic Kit #2 w/ SAG.

Pre-Protocol and FM #2

These kits are designed for the person with more chronic problems or those who have trouble tolerating supplements. You may want to start with the Pre-Protocol below and then add in the The Fibromyalgia and Natural Antibiotic Kit #2 w/ SAG . We realize that many people cannot tolerate having their immune system stimulated too quickly because the pathways that deal with toxin elimination and neutralization are not ready for this. The Preprotocol gently prepares a person’s digestive tract while eliminating certain fungi and harmful bacteria. A supplement sensitive person can usually take the The Fibromyalgia and Natural Antibiotic Kit #2 w/ SAG after one month on the Pre-Protocol.

Pre-Protocol ($209.00) Phone orders only!

(phone orders only then you will order a The Fibromyalgia and Natural Antibiotic Kit #2 w/ Sea Aloe Gold (below))

We suggest you start with ⅓ doses and build yourself up as comfortable to the full dosages listed in the dosage charts below.

Package Contains:
  • Diet – As long as you do the Special oil, the only stipulations will be no grains or processed sugars and make sure you do some animal protein such as whey protein isolate, eggs and meat. I suggest Dymatize Elite whey protein as we have tested it and also it tastes great! You can get it online. We also suggest avoiding dairy especially cheese as it is a risky source of many food poisoning bacteria. Cook your meats well, especially the chicken.

  • Lecithin granules ($15.00/1lb) – This will help to overcome the cellular resistance in all chronic illness, resulting in greatly lowered ability of the cells to clean out their garbage and take in nutrients.
